We were tasked with using two new programs to generate 3D data; 123D Catch by Autodesk, and ReconstructMe used with Microsoft Kinect technology.
123D Catch Steps
1. First had to take a 180 series of photographs of the object we wanted to convert into 3D. You need between 20-40 photos to generate good date. These were the basic angles I used.
2. Next we bring this shots into 123D to render out. Here is a shot of what the model looks like after loading the photos into 123D.
2. The Next step was to bring this model into Maya to clean up the geo and remove any unwanted parts.
ReconstructMe
Our second task was to take a body or bust scan using the kinect to generate mesh data.
